Under the North Star is named after the legacy of the astrological system of freedom and the people that embody that freedom. Many ancestral Black
Americans and enslaved Africans headed North to escape racial terror, and were led to the Ohio River as this threshold of freedom. The northern Kentucky
border was a geographical landmark for a freer future of autonomy, liberation, and care following the North Star. Under the North Star is a tribute to this threshold.

trained to be deliberate and reflective
to care for our community, our body, and
spirit. Our values are foundational for
decision making and curation of offerings

Our Own
North Stars are our ancestors that embodied and navigated life in deep principle and ritual. They are the ones we look to for guidance through this journey of life. North Stars can be from our personal bloodline or communal giants from movement history.
